Pre-Assessment

Validation
Validation is the process of ensuring accuracy and completeness of proposed emissions reporting systems and project design documents.

Validation is a requirement for registration of GHG reduction projects, most notably in JI and CDM, and ensures the viability of the project to move forward.

BSI has extensive experience in validating:

new methodologies for monitoring and reporting GHG emissions

Verification
Verification is the process of ensuring that reported GHG emission figures are accurate and BSI’s approach will ensure emissions reports are:

BSI applies the following process:

Strategic Analysis involves BSI gaining an overview of the project activities and an understanding of the significance of emissions.
Process Analysis is an on-site verification of information involving spot checks to determine data reliability.
Risk Analysis verifies risk control methods minimizing uncertainty and evaluates the reliability of data from each source.
BSI’s Report will specify the issues uncovered in the verification work and will provide a qualified opinion that reported emissions are not materially misstated.
