There are eight steps to achieving registration to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 with BSI.
Step 1 - Initial Enquiry. Our professionals will do everything they can to help you.
Step 2 - Quotation Provided. BSI will then provide an estimate of costs and timescales for formal assessment to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005.
Step 3 - Application Submitted. Submit a formal application to BSI.
Step 4 - Assessment Team Appointed. Your principal contact with BSI throughout the registration process and beyond, will have knowledge concerning the nature of your business.
Step 5 - Pre Audit Review. The BSI assessment team reviews the IT Service Management System (ITSMS) documentation and the definition of the ITSMS processes. For some organizations there will be an element of changes to be made to some aspects of the service management documents and/or processes.
Note: This stage may be combined with Step 6
Step 5a - Pre Assessment (Optional). A GAP analysis of your ITSMS can be conducted by BSI to establish your organization's readiness for assessment to ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005.
Step 6 - Initial Assessment. BSI’s assessment staff conducts an audit of the ITSMS. This is entirely objective, checking that your system has been effectively implemented and meets the requirements of the standard. You will be informed of the recommendation before the assessment team leaves your premises.
Step 7 - Registration. On successful completion, a certificate of registration is issued.
Step 8 - Continual Assessment. Your certificate is maintained via a programme of continuing assessment visits and re-certification by strategic review.
